ARTIST STATEMENT- Artist statements have always been curious bits of personal and group ideology concerning the nature of art and expression. Artists today try to define the process and product of art relative to a myriad of beliefs and agendas. Some want to inscribe their names within historical contexts, while others vie for commercial rewards. Some brandish erudite concerns, forwarding some avante-garde notion, while others labor arduously to elevate technical and aesthetic prowess in hopes of creating a personal idiom. Yet, for myself, art is nothing more than a process which forwards a dialog that defines and reflects the essence of life. For each artist, this dialog conveys a soulful passion that resonates with the artist and at some level with the viewer. As such, a communion and connection with the finite and the proposition of the infinite is revealed. Moreover, it is in this manner that God reveals both my life and path. The work that I have posted in this gallery is a small selection of this dialog. Hopefully, the underlying messages and metaphors within the imagery will move you in some manner. Whether the work evokes an emotional, visceral response or initiates some thoughtful repose is a matter for you, the viewer.
