What inspired me as a young child was my favorite uncle who used to draw caricatures of me. Watching his work come alive on a single piece of paper sparked my interest to begin the art of doodling. Due to my uncles influence, I began my own artist journey. I first started to doodle, then sketch, then daw, then paint.
Throughout my high school years I began to dedicate more time to my artwork. But, as I got married, worked as Medical Office Manager and Consultant, and became a mom of four, my inner artist self became second. I knew one day, I would have a chance to re visit my inner dream of art. After retirement in 2005, I began to dive deeper into my painting by learning different painting techniques, attending many painting workshops here in Ohio and one in France. While trying to enhance my artist abilities, I had the privilege of learning many inspriring tips from well established artists from all over. Fred Leach, Fred Graff, Mel Gruneau, Mel Stabin, Cindy Allman and recently Larry Churski. Throughout all my art workshops, I have recently switched from watercolor to plein air oil painting.
I am presently a member of Medina County Art league, Brunswick Art Works, The Crooked River Gang, which has a gallery in the Cuyahoga Valley. I have exhibited my work at the Art Gallery of Sandstone Village, MD Garage and Marie's Cafe in Medina. I originally joined an Art Gallery in Powell, Ohio where I sold my first painting several years ago.
