Georgia Annwell worked several decades in the diverse fields of agriculture, nursing instruction, martial arts, instruction, small business ownership, and architecture before becoming a full time artist/painter. Now she draws frojm her rich backgrround and paints almost every day.
Georgia is often amused by people and other animals and expresses this delight in her work. She might paint a landscape in a color chosen by a client. She might render a building she admires in an urban environment. She might paint a professional model in an atelier. She sketches and paints the animals at the Marin County Fair and the people who sit near her on the bus.
Among her numerous degrees, Georgia has a lot of art-related education too. She spent early years at the Masters Institute in New York City,has an AA in art from the College of Marin in California, has a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, and takes ongoing classes and workshops in figure drawing and watercolor.
Her current art organization affiliation includes The Marin County Watercolor Society, The Marin Society of Artists, The Marin Art Council, The Indian Valley Figure Drawing and Painting Atelier, MMOCA (The Marin Museum of Contemporary Art), The Portrait Society of America, and CMCM (The Community Media Center of Marin).
