I was born in 1970 to a mother who was an artist, sculptor, jeweler and an activist. I spent many-a-day in my motherís jewelry store (Carolista Jewelry Designers) in Nags Head, NC making jewelry and nights at town hall meetings trying to save historic landmarks.
My motherís greatest achievement was saving Jockeyís Ridge State Park. She was a beautiful lady and I miss her dearly.
I was very lucky to have grown up in an oceanfront cottage where I spent so much time around the beach. I feel like the ocean is a part of my DNA and I put the rolling and peaking movement into my work. I now live beach-side in Melbourne Beach; a place that reminds me of Nags Head.
