Gina Buzby

Gina Warren Buzby is originally from the beautiful state of South Carolina but she has also lived (and painted) in Florida, Rhode Island, Maryland, Hawaii, and Virginia as well as Europe and the Caribbean. Traveling is a joy for her and she has delighted in taking her paints to Australia, Italy, Ireland, Israel, Turkey, Croatia and Cuba– to name just a few favorites.

Through her B.A. degree in Art and Illustration from Columbia College (SC), she began a career in Graphic Design and Advertising. Later, she entered the field of Higher Education Administration and also earned her Masters Degree in Education from Clemson University.

Today, Gina has refocused her interests in Art toward the continued development of a varied yet cohesive body of work. She takes advantage of entering shows and competitions and has won many awards. In addition to her own personal creations, she appreciates and welcomes commissioned artwork. She enjoys providing clients with personal, original art for gift-giving or for their own collections. In her studio, she can make preliminary sketches of the proposed artwork. The subject matter can be sparked by the imagination, from a personal photograph or a combination thereof. Gina utilizes her Education background by offering private art lessons to both adults and children, especially those needing supplement to their home-school curriculae.

In her artwork, Gina captures light, color and the “painterly qualities” of the impressionistic brush strokes -combining these interests while producing a realistic rendering of a favorite vacation home, pet or personal portrait is her utmost priority for the client. Her talents include proficiencies in watercolor portraits, pastel painting and acrylic / oil painting.

Currently, in addition to creating art in her home studio, Gina participates in the artist 'collective' at Olde Towne Art in Portsmouth, Virginia. At Olde Towne Art (525 High Street), Gina enjoys the comraderie of 22 other artists and displays many of her recent pieces there. Please drop by this unique studio / gallery.
