My work is the result of how I feel about what I am viewing. Everyone has his or her own individual perception about what is viewed. I want to connect spiritually, and then paint what I see. The painting freezes the beauty of that portion of God's creation in time. As I see it, what I view is an incredible gift from the Creator that should be appreciated by every person, to gaze upon and admire all the beauty of this earth that surrounds us. Think about how you felt when you saw something that gave you that special feeling deep inside that you wanted to hold on to. That is the way I feel, and this motivates me to paint. I want to capture that view and feeling so that I can hold on to it.
The desire to be an artist has always been instilled in me since I was very young. I've always painted off and on through the years in intervals. Sometimes life gets in my way of being a painter, but I always wander back. Having a mother and siblings who were artistic, it seemed natural that I would possess the ability to be artistically creative also. Now I have decided to satisfy my desire to paint to my hearts content. Painting brightly colored and sometimes soft works of art bring me much joy and peace.
