Raised in Goshen, New York, and currently living in the Tampa Bay area, Greg Neal studied at the Hartford Art School, at the University of Hartford in Connecticut, where he graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. He started his professional career as a freelance photographer, but his passion for painting changed his focus. Greg has dedicated himself strictly to painting wildlife. He has been very fortunate to have studied with several nationally acclaimed artists, such as Stephen Brown, Rey Melici, and Fred Wessel.
Greg enjoys traveling and gains inspiration from seeing new places and wildlife. He uses these opportunities to capture reference photographs, which he later utilizes in his studio to complete his paintings.
It has been said by Greg’s collectors, that one of their favorite qualities of his work is that he has a way of capturing expressions which makes the viewer feel a connection with the animal.
