ARTIST STATEMENT: I’ve always been interested in myth, history, spirituality, cultures and traditions different from my own. What faith am I? All faiths, and none, for one aspect of my life path is to move past the dogma and ideology dictated by mortals and attempt an understanding of the eternal truths underlying all faiths, spiritual paths, and the great mythic traditions. The true meaning is found in silences between words. An individual's deeds and manner of living convey far more about that individual than any sacred, political, and philosophical texts they may choose to quote.
My imagery communicates a personal interpretation of archetypal imagery and personal vision. It flows from the heart, often almost creating itself as I move into and through the painting. I share the experience of self empowerment; life needn't be bitter even if its not always sweet. In many paintings hidden dimensions are not readily apparent unless the viewer has had similar experiences; surprisingly I receive many letters from individuals who intuit and resonate with what is presented. I love that beauty exists in nature for no reason at all, and in this spirit sometimes give voice to a vision by painting it. The act of doing so, watching the color and line materialize, pleases something within.
