Gunter Erik Hortz was born in Hamburg, Germany in 1947. ( In the midst of HELL.) Hortz began demonstrating his artistic ability at the age of nine. He was privately tutored in drawing, painting, and sculpture. He also visited the major museums in Europe to study the masters: Monet, Lautrec, Van Gogh, Gauguin, Cezanne, and Matisse.
