I have been drawing and painting since I was a very young child and do not remember a time when I did not. My brother who is six years older took formal art lessons in high school. I use to copy his home work but I never took formal lessons myself. However, I have continuously studied art and over the years worked with formally trained artists who, I suppose, informally trained me. For example, they taught me things like toning down purple with a green glaze - which is something that works but I would never have thought of it.
Computers have always been a big part of my business life (yes, while I have always been an artist, the responsibilities of keeping my wife and children in a certain style would have been difficult as an artist). It has been a natural progression for me to move into digital art. I find it very liberating to be able to alter shape, size and color instantly. The move into digital photography was also a natural progression. I obviously like to digitally alter photographs to make them more interesting. Many people find it difficult to determine if they are looking at a painting or a an altered digital photograph.
My MOST RECENT images are on the first pages. There are now hundreds of images in my Fine Art America portfolio. To make it easier for visitors, who want to pursue a certain subject, I have assigned most of the images to several 'galleries'. You can access these galleries by clicking on the 'galleries' tab next to the 'Artwork' tab.
