My name is Iosua Tai Taeoalii (Josh); I am an American/Samoan artist and award winning filmmaker from Salt Lake City, Utah. I'm currently experimenting with a mix of photography, pen & ink, spray paint, stencils, acrylics and nature's wood grains to bring to fruition resolutions to my inquiries concerning the human condition. My work often comes from an intense place and although it can, at times, appear aggressive and foreboding, it is always honest and hopefully profound. It is not my goal to create anything other than that which can cause the viewer to think.
Throughout my existence I have had a beckoning passion for the arts and after trying my hands at so many of the different mediums, a fortuitous meeting of my wife Adrienne, who similarly had an enchanment with the arts, provided new inspirations. In 2005, my wife and I began selling our pop art pieces on eBay and in the 5 year adventure we sold over 8,000 original pieces worldwide. As of 2009 I have been touring the U.S. with my wife and our 2 children, selling my work at some of the top art festivals across the nation including the Cherry Creek Art Festival of Colorado and the Gold Coast Art Fair of Chicago.
In 2010 I received the 1st Place Mixed Media Award at the Castle Rock Artfest of Colorado, the Funky Ferndale Art Festival of Michigan, and the Plantation Art in the Park of Florida. I most recently won the “BEST OF SHOW” award at the 2010 South Miami Art Festival. I am extremely honored that my work is appreciated across the globe and strive to continue pleasing the intuitions of my collectors.
