Irma has worked in a wide variety of materials and media, figurative and abstract, large - scale and small, wholly devoted to drawing and the formal properties of the 2-dimensional plane. She has exhibited widely in group shows, solo exhibits and is represented in many collections.
In 2000 she was invited by A.I.R. (New York's oldest women's artists cooperative) to be part of their invitational 'Women Artists at the Turn of the Millennium' exhibition. In each phase of her work she explores issues of perception, beauty, meaning, and visual communication in a wide range of techniques and vocabularies.
