Born and raised in Hong Kong, Isabella moved to the United States to continue her education at the age of 16. In Colorado, New York, and currently San Francisco, she has been exposed to people and cultures that allowed her to grow more than she could ever imagine. This growing experience not only taught her independence and appreciation of her own family and culture, it also inspired her to pursue her passion, to illustrate books for children.
Isabella graduated from the Academy of Art University with a BFA in traditional illustration. Her training has allowed her to harness her narrative skills and painting ability to bring her own touch to the magical world of children's books. Specializing in watercolors, Isabella also works in oils, acrylics and digital media. A perfectionist, Isabella not only paints scenes of undeniable wonder, she also has a keen eye for the little details. Her art is subtle, with unexpected elements that you may not notice at first glance, it is those little touches that she hopes her audiences will enjoy, children and adults alike.
