My approach to my artwork is to clear my mind and go where the subconscious takes me. I often leave my work open for the viewer's interpretation, often leaving veiled messages behind by using random objects. I like allowing color to express and provoke emotion, mood and feeling. Many things influence my work, often the things in the world around us that others take for granted such as cracks in sidewalks, rusted steel and the universe.
There are many artists who influence my work: Pollock, Van Gogh, Rothko, Johns, and many others. I have always had an interest in art. While attending Concord College I developed an interest in painting. I have lived in West Virginia my whole life. I currently live in Paden City, WV and work for Consol Energy River Operations as a deckhand.
My work can also be seen at The Bookstore in New Martinsville WV,Tamarack in Beckley WV, Studio B Fayetteville WV and at the Gold Derrick Gallery in Sistersville WV as well as their Fine Art America page.
