Working artist, freelance flake in the Central Valley of California. Originally from Riverside, California, moved to Modesto in 1977, sometimes traveling out of town. Award winner in watercolors, studied art primarily at University of California, Riverside, at a time when printmaker Connor Everts a regents lecturer. A published cartoonist, poster maker, I like ink, watercolor, but I do oils, and acrylics, the rare sculpture and mixed media. Many of my works involve figures, life drawing, drawings from life of events and concerts attended, and abstractions of same. My work hangs in Boston, San Francisco, the Central Valley, Riverside, and a few have made their way out of the country. Recent shows since 2010, include the University of California, Riverside Goldware Family Library Gallery as a solo show at the UCR Alumni Center, the California Institute of Mental Health in Sacramento, current solo show in Boulder Creek, California in the recording studio of Barry Tanner. I've shown in Stockton, Modesto, San Francisco, Riverside, in various local juried and invitational shows. Most interesting non painting work, a mural in sharpie pen in the bar area at Tresetti's World Caffe in downtown Modesto. I have some of my printmaking on display at O'Reilly's Irish Pub on Green Street in San Francisco, and the Boylston Chess Club in Cambridge, MA. The latter is no accident, my brother is a grandmaster Chess player, and many of my published cartoons related to chess. I have a CD cover with jazz group Chris Cosby Quintet for their Carnivale Album, from a detail of my watercolor Stage Lights. Many of the original works posted here, still available.
