I am a landscape photographer with a special interest in wilderness. Living in the UK, I am not blessed with an abundance of true wilderness locally but on my travels to places such as New Zealand and Australia, I have come to appreciate what I have missed out on for so long. The value of wilderness is very difficult to express in words but is felt accutely by almost everyone privileged to experience it first hand - what better place to be at sunset than looking down the Hollyford Valley from the Routeburn Track in New Zealand, knowing that there is nothing but mountain, river and pristine forest all the way to the sea.
Although most of my work is marketed for use in publishing and advertising, I choose a very select few pictures for my fine art limited edition print range. These are photographs which I have taken while feeling moved by the experience of being there and as such, are very personal to me. My hope is that there is something of that experience expressed on film that is picked up by others who view these photographs.
