I have a masters degree from UW Madison, WI, USA
I am a disabled American. My disabilities include visual impairment, dyslexia, burn survivor, stroke survivor, and early onset Parkinson’s. The subject matter of my art is a mirror to the struggle I go through with these illnesses. I do not claim to know where my concepts for art come from other than some deep reaches of my mind and soul. Although I display my work through Galleries and Websites, I am very involved in the Auctioning my work for causes such as MADD, WICK, Diabetes and Disabilities. All proceeds are donated. Because this worked out well for the many programs in this Country, I sent pieces to Belfast Ireland for auction for Downs Syndrome Program. I am now teaching art to the elderly and am doing workshops for the disabled adults and children in my county. The Adult Education program and the Elderly Center in my County help me with space and advertisement for this. I am going to apply for a VSA grant to teach art to disabled people next fall. I have been helped by Needed Programs such as the WI Department for the Visually Impaired and Blind, DVR and Easter Seals.
I have been invited to participate in May of 2007 In New York for the United Nation’s Touch Program for children. I will be the artis is residence and leaving the United Nations Program two paintings to inspire children to follow their dreams.
