I’m not sure who to give credit to for this quote but I read somewhere once that “you don’t choose to be an artist, it chooses you” and this is the case with me. Drawn to color and texture with the urge to create since a young child the desire has never dissipated. It’s a form of expression, the release of our inner thoughts, feelings, humor, character; it’s therapy for the heart, mind and soul.
The subject matter of my painting changes because I get bored and move on to a new favorite so you will see variety. If I had to choose a favorite it would be abstract design because I find it more expressive.
“Beauty is in the eye of the beholder”, everyone sees something different when they look at a piece of artwork, what one person loves, another will hate. All I can do is follow my heart, inspirations, and forge forward with that never ever ending urge to create that just won’t go away and hope that some people will find a source of pleasure in my paintings.
