My contemporary abstract paintings are created using my original mixed media technique, 'Alternative Abstraction'. Developed in 2012, my complex process combines inks, acrylics, heat & household chemicals with epoxy resin. Careful layering, manipulation, & timely execution produce unique results. Vibrantly colorful abstracts alive with energy. As a self taught artist, my unorthodox methods rarely include an easel or a brush. I have mastered the basic skills and the chemistry of my medium. Concentrating on the process, rather than the meaning, my spontaneous creations are purely emotional. With a natural curiosity and fearless approach to abstract painting, the result is a 'symphony of color' or 'visual song',
“Music is my sole (soul) inspiration. I always paint to music. I translate the audible to visual, it's like I paint what I hear...
Lyric and melody become color and form, As I construct a painting as a songwriter would compose a song.”
My creative experience is both liberating and exhilarating, my expressive outlet is a freedom like no other, achieved by relinquishing control to the natural path of liquid as it flows. 'Fluid' motion is beautiful perfection, a natural flow that can be controlled only to a point — which is a good life lesson. It’s about learning how and when to let go. This karmic exercise, is quite therapeutic as well. Using only gravity, patience and self-restraint, each body of work is a book, each painting a chapter, telling the story of my personal journey of self-discovery. That expressive, interactive aspect of the art form has allowed me to make amazing discoveries— and one-of-a-kind results— and that is precisely what appeals to me.
