Born and raised in New York, JLM began painting at 6 years old. By 13 she was awarded a certificate by the Metropolitan Museum of Art, MET in New York City for draftsmanship. Initially, she attended New York's FIT majoring in fine arts then realized there was a lot more training to be received and decided to live abroad. In Germany she took time for travel and exploration, earning a bachelor of science in psychology while minoring in physics. At this time she had a greater understanding of people, color, and objects—related to space & emotion, in the most literal sense. Her style of painting is closely associated with technology and greatly influenced by cubism and geometric shapes. Some other alternatives as demonstrated here - an 'introspection' to abstract expressionism in art and print media. JLM extends gratitude to her parents, especially her mother, and grandmother for fostering her artistic capabilities. She now looks forward to earning a PhD in engineering.
