Jenn Page is a new local artist currently rooted in Jacksonville, FL. She is ever changing and her work is influenced by that of Beth Cavener Stichter, Jame Roper, Nicoletta Ceccoli, Matt Wood and many other new names found today in contemporary art. Page may be still wet behind the ears but has managed to become known through winning awards from certain cultural magazines such as Eco Latino and others. There are always many things to be learned and experienced by an up-and-coming local artist.

Animals are the voiceless and involuntary individuals of our global game, pure and sinless. I like to make commentaries on humanity by replacing ourselves w/ the animals that most represent them. For me, I can relate most to the rabbit. They are vulnerable and pure hearted, never harming anything and sadly fall prey to many things. A rabbit’s heart will keep pumping far after it’s been ravaged. And so will mine. In my art, I attempt to portray animals that play human roles; they are fitting protagonists for stories in which I addess some of our collective follies. I am the rabbit-hearted girl.

'Animals don't behave like men, if they have to fight, they fight; and if they have to kill, they kill. But they don't sit down and set their wits to work to devise ways of spoiling other creatures' lives and hurting them. They have dignitiy and animality'. --'Watership Down' by Richard Adams.

Jenn Page joined Fine Art America on March 23rd, 2012.
