I have a liberal arts degree from Butler County Community College. I have also attended Wichita State University where I have taken many art classes. I was was born in Augusta, KS and have lived my entire life in and around the Wichita area. I volunteer at the Ronald McDonald House of Wichita and have, in the past, volunteered at the YMCA.
In 2008/09 I was asked, by my friend and author, Shannon Bates, if I would like to illustrate a children’s book. So, for the last year we have been working on that project!(Thanks also to our husbands for their help on that!) We have sold many books and have been to numerous schools to read the book and talk about the importance of overcoming your fears and trying something new! Part of what we have been able to do with our book is, with the help and support of McDonald’s Owner/Operator’s, put a book into hundreds of elementary schools in Kansas, Missouri, and Iowa. Also, a percentage of those books sold was donated to the Ronald McDonald House Charities!
My work is featured at L'Image Art Gallery in Wichita,KS. Over the past few years I have had several art shows in my area and have had great success! The most important part of my life is my family. My husband and my two children bring me lots of joy and happiness, I LOVE spending time with them and all of my inspiration comes from our life. We love to travel, you will notice that lots of my work is inspired by our travels to Florida and surrounding areas. I love exploring new things and having new experiences!
