I love traveling, both to local destinations, as well as to other countries. To me, travel is not necessarily a matter of crossing long distances, but more of a state of mind, or a way of looking at the world and rejoicing in new experiences. Each painting I create comes from a moment when I am struck by the uniqueness of the scene before me. Light may hit the subject in an amazing way, I may experience a unique musical performance, or I may simply be awed by the beauty of what I am seeing. When such a moment strikes, I strive to capture it. I particularly love a picture where a viewer might look at the scene and wonder “How did the artist get there and see that?” I have been particularly inspired by my travels throughout Europe, as well as New Zealand.
I am originally from the New York area, but now reside in Chesapeake, Virginia. I graduated with a BA in Art from Messiah College in Pennsylvania in 1992. I am now pursuing my art full-time as a painter, photographer, graphic designer, and web designer.
