Jeri Desrochers

'The intense light and color of the New Mexico and Colorado landscapes and people are my inspiration to paint. Deep purples glow through the shadows in this starkly beautiful area of the country. I often begin my oils with a background of transparent glowing purple that peeks through the thick impasto texture of rich surface colors.
Primarily self-taught, I have studied with artists  including Don Sahli, Nancy Frost Begin, and Maryann Linhart. I love to experiment with new techniques and materials, always striving to push the boundaries of color and texture.'

Jeri Desrochers' colorful paintings, photographs, and original serigraph prints have won numerous awards and been displayed in national and regional art exhibits. Her love of color and form finds expression in painting, glasswork and design.
