I was born in the southwest, but grew up in the midwest. I was lucky enough as a child to have opportunity to travel to many of the great places in the US, and I suppose that is where my attachment to visual impact solidified itself as an integral part of my personal journey. I find it difficult to limit myself to one genre of art - I simply have more to say than one genre could offer. I do, however, find myself returning most often to portraits and figurative works, abstracts and landscapes.
I am a self taught artist - which is to say i was never afforded the chance to study under anyone's direction - I took it upon myself to read and learn as much as I could on my own and with limited resourses. It has been a long journey, at times frustrating, but in the end I believe I can say my style developed solely as a result of my own desires - and was never unduly influenced by any teacher.
My work, as a body, is hard to describe. I have seen life from many angles - from the relatively mundane life of a business professional to being a homeless man. From a musician to almost schoolboy fascination with theoretical physics. From one who endeavors to find the cool logic of life to the ardent philosopher. It is my hope and intention only that my body of work reflect the broader man, not simply a one dimensional aspect. I am many in my oneness, I guess you could say. And so is my work . . .
