My aesthetics explore the mysterious, the spiritual, and the magical notions of structure within abstract, stylized, and metaphysical designs. Very aware of the fundamentals of traditional media that have been with artists for hundreds of years, I've explored software imaging in ways that would be unique to itself rather than imitation of oil or watercolor painting. It was a compelling strategy that I was able to fortunately explore, being related to my commercial computer graphics career. Cultivation of vitality manifested in the gesture and chromatic vibrance within the overall composition is paramount for me!
I received my Master of Fine Arts (1987) in Film/Video from the California Institute of the Arts, Valencia, CA. At CalArts, I concentrated on Experimental Animation. It was here that I first began experimenting with using my traditional art-making skills with electronic analog and digital media.
My Bachelor of Arts (1984) came from University of La Verne, La Verne, CA; where I double-majored in Fine Art and Journalism. At ULV, I got a firm foundation with Drawing, Painting, Etching, and Ceramic Sculpture. My Facebook page link showing the works in various settings is: https://www.facebook.com/GalleryTzuDeNim
