I was born and raised in Monterrey, Mexico. Graduated from college in 1977 as an Industrial Engineer. Back then I was not even interested in photography. In 1980 Eastman Kodak hired me to be a Technical Sales Rep with the Professional Photography Division and that's how my training in photography started. In little over two years I got a medium format camera and started doing my first freelance commercial assignments by mid 1983.
After Kodak, I joined Polaroid and completed almost 10 years with the two companies. By 1990 I already had established my own commercial studio. I would do all sort of commissioned assignments ranging from product shot to Industrial and from catalog to food packaging.
Also, music artist groups CD cover shots, Architectural, Jewelry, Executive portraits, etc.
But from all of those, food always has been a personal preference of mine. That's why I decided to go exclusive with food. I feel that the challenge to light food and make it look 'mouth watering' it's been reached every time a person tells me how one of my photos makes him/her hungry or any other expression that conveys the same meaning.
So, if you're looking for a food photographer and you like my style, contact me and lets start talking about your project!
