Judith Joseph is an award-wiinning Chicago-area painter and calligrapher She has created hundreds of commissioned works for individuals and public institutions, and her specialty is the Ketubah (Hebrew illuminated marriage contract, an illustrated calligraphic work used in Jewish weddings). Her work has been recognized by the Illinois Arts Council with Artist's Fellowship Awards in 1998 and 2004. She is a published illustrator and her calligraphic work has been featured twice in Letter Arts Review. She shows her work at Gallery 659, Glencoe, Illinois, as well as in numerous juried group shows. She teaches painting classes at The Art Center, Highland Park and the Chicago Botanic Garden. She is a member of the Society of Tempera Painters, the Chicago Artists' Coalition, the American Guild of Judaic Artists, the American Jewish Artists Club, and the Chicago Calligraphy Collective.
