Julia R. Berkley is a collage artist who works primarily in fiber and other media to create abstract art that is evocative of nature. Her artwork can be found in private and corporate collections, including the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota, as well as Children’s Hospital and UMass Memorial Medical Center in Massachusetts. Her works have hung in the Danforth Museum, the Fitchburg Art Museum, and the Concord Art Association, among others.
Ms. Berkley was born in New Jersey, raised in Pennsylvania, and migrated to New England during her college years. A graduate of Wesleyan University, she worked in the creative end of publishing before finding her own artistic vision.
Ms. Berkley is currently represented by Handworks Gallery in Acton, MA, Art3 in Manchester, NH, and L’Attitude Gallery on Newbury St. in Boston. She is a member of several professional organizations, including the Surface Design Association and Women’s Caucus for the Arts, and participates regularly in regional juried exhibitions.
