As a Fine Artist I produce artwork for exhibition and on commission. Figurative art and portraiture; produced using traditional media is a specialty.
Animal art is a favourite... African wildlife and equestrian art are a passion!
Nature inspires me! I have a natural love for painting with oil and enjoy the way the paints move and the effect of applying several fine transparent glazes to give depth and tone to my pictures and an almost translucent finish. I have always enjoyed art but now it has become a way of life!, I found myself consumed with studying the works of many of the great masters and dedicating my time to learning the old flemish styles and techniques of using oil and pigments. I discovered this traditional method of oil painting as the most powerful way to deliver my artistic visions. By contrasting intricate close up sections of my subjects features with broad bands of colour I bring the larger painting alive.
