'Every once in a while a seed slips through and an entirely different fire of another color surges.' J.K.
The longer I live and paint the more the desire is to paint what I find hard to express. To paint an expression for the experience of feeling co-joined with the understanding life for me is an intwined physical/spiritual living. As the body further dies it awakens further the subtle awarenesses. The subject I draw upon is the witnesser's biological consciousness, it's compilation of developing congruent memories and in the feeling that only completes itself in the curve of future micro cosmos of the string experience. From tangibles, with tangibles, to tangibles is the source, tools and application of the inner vortices I find my recent fascination to be to paint in abstract. It is for the reason of everything being in a state of development of something that abstract has become my choice of visual expression. It is seeming to be the truest form of expression for what I feel is difficult to impart to another, to share a sensory experience with another. It is my way of communicating other meanings in life, other feelings. It is the attempt to be intimate with myself, the experience and to try and share similar and common understandings with you. There is so much more to express, so much more to share with each other. Sometimes I feel, if I can get this communicated or related or shared with another I might come to further completions. I still do figurative or mythical or fantasy or even still life art but I now spend more hours rolling the viscosity of the abstract on my pallet, into my brush hairs and onto lovingly prepared canvases. I hope somewhere we connect and an enjoyment or some understanding has been derived from my efforts at communication with you. May my evolution touch your evolution. ~JK (Julie Koski)
------today washes away the heady thoughts of my developed complexities with simple watercolor flowers, birds and puppies. Sometimes, the wind sweeps the country across my senses and out comes the familiar medium of contentment. Today, I'm romanced by the pure joy of light and hidden images in the shadows. Sometimes, I greet the day up front and direct as it does me. Today I reflect the simple joy of living and share with you numerous kisses it bestows on the loved one.
Sometimes, I stop striving and just embrace. I hope you find enjoyment in these creations I bring you as well.
