Nevada Artist-Featured in the Mar/April 2013 'Gold Prospectors' magazine
I have from my earliest memories as a child growing up near Eldon, Missouri, loved to draw. I was probably about 11 years old when I received my first set of acrylic paints. I remember that I didn't stop painting until the whole pad was used up. In Jr High and High School I won awards for my art abilities. After high school there was just so much that life required of me with my job, getting by business degree and raising 6 kids that my paints were boxed up neglected and dried out on the shelf. It is only recently that I have returned to pick up my brushes and with a new passion I have returned to my love of painting. I love the beauty of the American Southwest...especially the rugged beauty of Nevada. I am determined to develop the style that is uniquely mine and that will bring joy and appreciation to those that see it.
I appreciate the encouragement that both my husband and children give me to pursue with passion my dream of becoming a REAL artist. There is so much beauty that God has given us in His creation, that it is often difficult just to decide what should be the subject of the next painting. This is a journey and with God's help I will strive to honor Him by appreciating His creation and attempting to capture that beauty with some paint on a canvas.
