June has resided in Port Perry, Ontario, for 60 years. Since retiring, from her teaching position in Durham Region, she began to paint. For 20 years, working with watercolour was her passion. In the past 10 years her work has been strongly influenced by abstract qualities in nature. Strong paintings with vibrant, bold strokes of colour & light, invite the viewer to share her passion for the painting process. She paints with a variety of media, including acrylic, oil, watercolour, inks, hand painted collage papers, & a variety of unusual materials.
For the past 30 years, June has actively participated in the Canadian & Florida Art communities.
In Canada, June enjoys the art activities & friendships of the Port Perry Artists Association, the Oshawa Art Association, The Pine Ridge Art Council, & the Scugog Council for the Arts, and for many years her studio had opened for the Lake Scugog Studio Tour.
In Florida, she happily spends the winter in Palm Harbor, where she enjoys participating in workshops & activities with many fine artist friends of Palm Harbor, Dunedin, Clearwater & Tarpon Springs..
