K. Ryan Henisey grew up outside of Los Angeles on the border to the Angeles National Forest. Always introspective, Henisey spent his days drawing, writing, and making creations out of any material he could get his hands on.
Henisey attended California State University, Bakersfield, earning his Bachelors in English and a California Teaching Credential. He was chosen as the Most Outstanding Credential Student, Antelope Valley in 2003. He returned a year later, earning his Masters in English in 2007.
Always a creative, Henisey taught in Public Education for ten years. He currently works as an artist and illustrator as well as communications specialist, working in graphic design, social media, web content and marketing.
Outside of work and his personal projects, Henisey is also a member and leader for Emerging Art Leaders Los Angeles. He is currently the Chair for Communications, developing and editing content for the organization.
Henisey has two poetry collections available for download. Status Haiku is a collection of his first 1,000 haiku. The Monster Ballad is fully illustrated poem based on world mythologies. He recently published The Thirteen Nights of Halloween to the iTunes store. His other works can be found on Etsy and FineArtAmerica.
