Recently had a life changing event that I must share. I was in an accident with my vehicle and a 200yo oak tree. The oak tree top crashed down on me in a hundred mph freak wind storm as I was pulling in the driveway comng home from work. The only and I mean ONLY thing that saved me was a little bird doing somersaults in front of an angel crystal I have keep hanging from my rear view mirror. If it wasn't for the bird that literally captivated my vision and made me release my foot off the gas pedal at that moment...I would have driven forward into the downward falling 2.5 foot around limb that took out my engine and dashboard. Posting a photo 'miracle' to show you just how close and devastatingly eye opening to how quick someone can leave this life... Peace and love and kindness! Karen
Paul Cezzane said, 'A work of art which did not begin in emotion is not art.”
I began painting a few years ago with a friend from work that lost her son as a way to express ourselves, as therapy. We signed up for a beginning painting class and well here I am today still expressing with paint to canvas, or mouse to screen digitally.
I feel that some paintings are prophetic or beyond what we can see here on this earth logically. My painting 'Dragon Fire' in some ways correlates to my late nephews life, he saw that the painting contained a dog way in the background overshadowing the hurt and pain and a dragon breathing fire and destruction mid-section going through and out of the painting -- exit right. He saw a man (himself) at bottom left coming into the painting surprised by the dragon . My nephew owned a little terrier (his healer). He was shot in a random robbing three years ago and was paralyzed from the waist down. He died last year in a tragic accident and is no longer with us. He associated 'Dragon Fire' to his life and I thank him everyday for that...I look at that painting and feel him with me. After his death, I painted 'Expired' in memory of him...'Eager' is for my brother who was killed in the same accident.
Every year I contribute art to American Red Cross 'Art Literally' program and look forward to contributing to many more charities in the future.
