Paul Cezzane said, 'A work of art which did not begin in emotion is not art.”
My painting 'Dragon Fire' in some ways correlates to my late nephews life, he saw that the painting contained a dog way in the background overshadowing the hurt and pain and a dragon breathing fire and destruction mid-section going through and out of the painting -- exit right. He saw a man (himself) at bottom left coming into the painting surprised by the dragon . My nephew owned a little terrier (his healer). He was shot in a random robbing tthree years ago and was paralyzed from the waist down. He recently died in a truck accident and is no longer with us. He associated 'Dragon Fire' to his life and I thank him everyday for that...I look at that painting and feel him with me. I painted 'Expired' in memory of him along with 'Eager' for my brother who was killed in the same accident.
