Kate Bedell is an Irish artist who works in Watercolour and Mixed Media Collage. Her work features beautiful gardens, flowers, people and landscapes.
She graduated from Dun Laoghaire School of Art and Design in 1984 with a distinction in Fine Art. In 1998 she was made a member of the Irish Water Colour Society where she exhibits her paintings annually. She has also exhibited in the Royal Hibernian Acadamy Annual shows (1985 and 1992) and her work is part of many private collections worldwide.
She took part in the Channel 4 television series 'Watercolour Challenge' in 1999 and painted Powerscourt Waterfall in Wicklow, and Joyces Tower in Sandycove. Both paintings were exhibited and sold in the Mall Galleries, London, U.K.
Shortly after this, Kate and her family moved to India where they spent seven years. Her work took her into figurative painting of Indian Women in brightly-coloured sarees. Since her return to Ireland, Kate has continued to paint with an Indian theme and is currently working on landscapes of India and Ireland.
