Kate Cosgrove grew up in a small Michigan town, where she wore too much
black and never quite fit in. Her mother nearly lost her mind trying
to keep enough drawing paper in the house so that Kate would leave the
walls alone.
Still wearing a lot of black, Cosgrove graduated with
honors from Michigan State University, where she majored in graphic
design and minored in painting. While Kate remains a regular exhibitor at the Lansing Art Gallery, she continues to show in many other cities including Chicago. She has collectors located in Michigan, Illinois, New York, New Jersey, Oregon, Tennessee, California, North Carolina, Florida, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Washington, New Hampshire, Texas and Colorado.
'Art is how I process my emotions from the very
difficult, to the very confusing, to the most amazing. If I was unable to
paint, it is quite possible that my head would explode....'
