As an artist Kate sees herself as a journey maker and self discoverer. Her search for inspiration and inner peace has taken her to places far and wide and enriched her journey within, as well as her art practice. Kate majored in drawing and printmaking at James Cook University in Queensland, Australia where she graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Art Honours. Post graduation she embarked on wordly travels and taught art classes for children internationally. Whilst traveling in India in 2005 a series of serendipitous events led her to discover Vedic Art (a painting method that works with consciousness and is based on the knowledge of the Veda). Through this method, painting became a liberating and transformative tool for Kate. With her paint brush in heaven and feet firmly planted on the earth, she continues to journey into a place of greater peace, joy and infinite possibilities. Kate exhibits internationally and regularly paints in different locations around the world; although currently based in Far North Queensland, Australia. She works with a combination of acrylic and tempera paint, metallic pigments, earth and natural materials on canvas. The elements of earth, water, fire and ether also play an important role in the creation of her paintings.
