I have always enjoyed the creative process. After graduating from the University of Massachsetts Dartmouth with a BFA in Visual Design/ Illustration I worked at a wallpaper design company for half a year. Due to some fortunate circumstances I started my own business working in the Visual Merchandising industry right after my first job, and have been self-employed ever since. Until recently I have always been in the more graphic and commercial side of the art world. After turning 50 I was able to devote my efforts to the fine arts full time.
My intent is to create a visual dialogue that intrigues both the mind and eye through simple symbolism. Familiar objects painted in a subtly surreal, whimsical manner invite the viewer to consider the deeper meaning of each painting. My artwork comments on contemporary issues, giving voice to personal concerns and emotions in the ongoing conversation of life.
