Artist Statement: People, animals and nature are what intrigue me. I especially love painting the innocent expressions of children. My focus is on capturing a look, or a feeling, or just a moment. Usually my inspiration comes from what I imagine that person is feeling or thinking and I want to create that either through color or expression. The beauty I find in nature also inspires many of my pieces. Watercolor, pastel, and oils are my favorite media for creating art. My goal is to continue studying portraiture and the figure, and to learn how to create the best and most interesting designs possible. I believe art is an ongoing learning process and each day of painting brings new ways to express what we learn from that painting experience.
“As an artist, I want to make a connection with another person, in hopes they will see my inspiration, and to touch them in a way bringing back a memory, a feeling, a moment in time.'
