My art discovery began in 2006. After repeated conversations with my friend who is a wonderful artist I was convinced that even I could create some type of art. I began by sketching one of my sons. After a few hours I had drawn a picture of him that was a very good likeness. It really surprised me. It also encouraged me to continue so I did my first mixed media piece, 'Madonna'. I almost ripped it up time and time again but my friend told me I needed to work through it. I am so glad I listened to her advice. I am going to continue to paint and keep on practicing. I think art is what was missing in my life. Often a restless, frustrating feeling would come over me. I wanted to do 'something' but I could not figure out what that 'something' was. Since I have started doing art I have not had that feeling once. I am enjoying this so much. I am grateful to my friend who encouraged me and led me to a wonderful and exciting life filled with art.
