I see the world as a potential painting. The first time I placed pigment into a puddle of water and watched the burst of color flow through the nooks and crannies of my paper, I was hooked. Watercolor became my passion and portraiture my outlet. To see examples of my work click on the 'Galleries' section above.
Teaching children to draw and paint is always a fun experience. Their energy and excitement is infectious. I teach them to see in a way that they may not be accustomed to. In researching art education, I have found that the arts are essential to the learning process. Drawing is a method that can be used to see the world in a new way - to closely observe, to contemplate, to appreciate, and to execute. Drawing can activate a part of the brain that may not be regularly used. Learning to see as an artist sees is a developed skill with lifelong benefits. Visual arts may not get the attention it should in the public schools, and families now look for other means to enrich their children's education. If you or your child is interested in attending weekly art lessons, email me at email@example.com.
If you would like more information about commissioning me to paint a portrait, you can email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
