I'm a primarily self-taught artist, currently living in Buffalo, NY. I worked a number of years as a commissioned portrait artist, and paint with acrylics to balance my precise, detailed, black and white drawings, with my love of color, movement and abstraction.
The dancer images are part of a series titled “Dancer” and portrays, through individual poses, resolute colors, and various cultural references, expressive dances from all over the globe. In order to enhance the language of each dancer, I outline the person itself in solid black and focus on the manifestation of the movement through the distinct clothing and vibrant backgrounds.
