I am new to this website and excited to be here. I have over twenty years in the travel industry. My passion is Africa and I frequent many areas several times per year. When I have clients that want to travel with me on safari, I arrange and escort the group. I focus primarily on East and Southern Africa. In the process, I discovered that I seem to have a knack for photography, mostly wildlife and floral photography. The pictures I have taken in Africa have turned out to be a wonderful opportunity for me to start a business, and these coupled with the artwork left by my mom, have helped me start Kays Creative Cards.
My business is creating photo greeting cards, mouse-pads, clipboards, cutting boards, and other products from the wildlife and floral photographs in my portfolio. Most of the floral images come from my own garden, though many also originate from my travels, gardening being a passion that I enjoy in what little spare time I have. The wildlife images, as you can imagine, comes from Africa.
On my last trip to Kenya, I was fortunate enough to see eight lions in a tree, four in on top of a tree, and four within the other tree. One of the pictures I captured was recently published in JAMHURI magazine, a magazine published for Kenyans living in the US. It was a cover photo and center spread with the full picture, and accompanying story. Of course I was thrilled. I also participate in a quarterly show in Orange County California, where I my products on are display for sale. The products as mentioned, are mouse-pads, clipboards, cutting boards, posters, reprints, and other creative products. It's called the Sugar Plum Festival so if you are in the Orange County area, please check their website for appropriate dates.
