Kaytee Esser - Fine Artist

Houston, TX - United States

Kaytee Esser was raised in Southeastern Pennsylvania, near Chadds Ford. She holds a B.F.A. in Painting from Kutztown University, PA. Additional coursework includes offset press graphics and CAD. She is an accomplished Archeological Illustrator with credentials from Temple University, the State of Delaware and the National Park Service in Utah. She has taught in public schools and colleges in and around North Carolina and the Hilton Head Art Academy. She recently completed a professional portraiture workshop with famous New York portrait artist Marvin Mattleson. Ms. Esser has also provided private workshops in Animal Portraiture, Watercolor, Oil Painting, Pastel, Calligraphy and Drawing.

Ms. Esser has worked extensively in theater scenic design in Raleigh and Charleston community theaters. She has been active in the Raleigh Little Theater, Chowan State College Community Theater, and the Footlight Players in Charleston.

Ms. Esser and her husband Greg have recently relocated to Houston, TX. She is a highly sought-after artist.

Kaytee concentrates her painting on portraiture both human and animal. Her pet portraits connect with each of her subjects on a deeply personal level, capturing their essence and translating it to canvas using rich color in a realistic approach. Her human portraits are in the style of contemporary realism by creating a different palette and approach to the representation of people. The interplay of hard and soft line coupled with the intimately subtle variations of skin tone adds dimension to the subject as if standing there in front of you.
