Hello and welcome to my gallery on Fine ART American. My usual venue is an online store called GidgeWorld.com If you need to contact me
you must go to www.Gidgeworld.com.
My name is Ken Gidge. I'm a Nashua, New Hampshire, based artist. I have always been interested inventing as well as politics and art.
It has taken about three years to develop a new Art Form, called Gidge 3D- spectral Illusions. The painting with special 3D glasses project shapes several feet off the canvas while some recede into the wall. People are surprised, amused and intrigued. The process remains a secret but you can get a full description of the work from the YouTube video done by Access TV- Channel 96 where our art director Nancy Ferrier discusses why this is an innovation.
In the 1960s I moved to Boston to study acting and art. I supported myself through bartending. Eventually I started running my own nightclubs, most famously 'Barnaby's' in Nashua, New Hampshire. I left that business at the beginning of the 1980s when I decided to start a family.
In 1974 I made it into the Guinness Book of World Records for modern flagpole sitting. Since then I've found better things to do with my time. In 1985 I organized a National Inventors Award Committee. We hosted Vice President George Bush Senior at one of the ceremonies.
I worked in radio for several years, which gave me a chance to interview New Hampshire Senators, Congressmen and eventually Al Gore, during his run for President. I've been on radio shows for the BBC and took part in discussions on C-SPAN twice.
I've always been very interested in politics. Currently I'm serving my 3rd term in the New Hampshire House of Representatives representing District 24 of my hometown, Nashua, New Hampshire. Also on Access TV- Channel 96 Nashua - you'll find me crossing political swords with the former speaker of the house Bill O'Brien.
