BIOGRAPHY
Kerryn Madsen-Pietsch, born 1956, Ararat, VIctoria, Australia, grew up on a country farm near Hall's Gap in the Grampians, western Victoria. Between formal qualifications Madsen-Pietsch worked and travelled interstate gaining life experiences. She settled in Innisfail, Far North Queensland 1985 to teach and married in that same year to Cliff Madsen (Indigenous artist from Kuku Yalangi clan, Bloomfield, FNQ). They have three children and two grandchildren. Parallel to a long art teaching career and raising a family, is Madsen-Pietsch's continual commitment to developing her professional art practice. She has numerous drawing, painting, fibre and sculpture awards and regional exhibition achievements behind her.
