I am a Korean American artist living and working in Tucson, Arizona, in the United States.   I love the messy process of painting and follow my creative path naturally in absolute freedom.   Painting moments are a healing process, a mental getaway to quiet my mind.   I earned a degree in graphic art and worked as one for 20+ years, but I have always hoped to paint.   With my husbands' encouragement, I gave it a go, and it was love at first try.   I am a self-taught artist since 2007.All my old and up-to-present works are on this site for you to get to know my progress...more

Figures

Beginning in the Renaissance, drawing the figure from life has been considered the best way to learn how to draw, and the practice has been maintained into the present. Different drawing techniques and exercises have become standard, including gesture, contour, and mass drawings. For beginners first learning to draw, learning to correctly observe real objects is essential in order to learn three-dimensional perspective and the effects of lighting. Live models are preferred, but if not available, plaster casts of the figure may be used, never photographs. My figure collection is from taking a semester of figure drawing.
