Lauren Luna was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio. She knew at an early age what she wanted to be when she grew up. Unlike other young adults whose childhood aspirations usually change, Lauren's desire to be an artist remained.
After graduation from high school she went off to college to pursue her dream in art. After transferring to Kent State University, where she later graduated, she learned that in order to be 'a famous artist', she had to move to New York City; that was when the obsession began. Every year, twice a year Lauren would go to New York on art related trips, coming back more inspired, and more determined than ever. When she received her Bachelors of Fine Arts in 2000, she immediately moved to the East Coast.
She settled ultimately in the Bronx where she commuted every weekend to volunteer in a gallery. Lauren quickly learned the hardships of living in New York City and eventually became a teacher to make ends meet. She had a son, and returned to her hometown of Columbus where she and her family currently reside.
After a several year hiatus Lauren is now an actively producing artist. Nicknaming herself 'Artista', meaning artist in spanish, she now is working on many new series.
